The peculiarity of this track is the presence of still intact tunnels, which will lead us to Castiglione di Sicilia, recognized as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. Here, we will cross the charming streets of the village until we reach the Castello di Lauria, an imposing medieval structure. From its walls, we will be able to enjoy a breathtaking view of the Alcantara Valley and admire the river from above.
During our visit to Castiglione di Sicilia, we will take a break for a tasting of local wines, where you can savor a fine wine accompanied by a platter of typical cheeses and cold cuts. This food and wine experience will allow you to immerse yourself in the authentic flavors of Sicily.
We will continue our journey going up the asphalt for a few kilometres, until we take a road that winds through woods and hazelnut groves, taking us back to the town of Linguaglossa. We will start from the Rifugio Ragabo hut at 1425 meters above sea level, following the scenic Altomontana trail. This trail is a treat for the eyes, with its fascinating pine forest and the various lava flows it passes through.
Along the way, we will have the opportunity to admire the majestic Ragabo Pine Forest, which will accompany us along our tour to the last lava flow of 2002. We will continue our e-bike tour passing the striking lava flows of 1923 and 1911, fully immersing ourselves in the fascinating Etnean landscape.
Once you arrive at Raspberry Cave at an altitude of 1720 meters, you will have the opportunity to explore this wonderful natural phenomenon and discover its fascinating geological history.
The tour to the Raspberry Cave is designed to provide a low-stress but unforgettable experience, allowing you to easily reach one of Etna’s most beautiful lava flow caves. The trail is of low difficulty, suitable even for beginners, and will allow you to cross ancient lava flows while immersing yourself in the unspoiled nature of Etna.
With a total distance of 15 kilometers and an elevation gain of 340 meters, the tour to Raspberry Cave will last about 2 hours, during which you will have the opportunity to experience your adventurous spirit to the fullest.
The Etna basic e-bike tour starts from Rifugio Ragabo and takes you to explore the volcano in an easy and adventurous way. Riding your e-mtb you will ride through the centuries-old Ragabo pine forest until you get to see the last major eruption of 2002 and then descend in the direction of a lava flow cave. At this spectacular place we will make a stop and visit inside the cave. Then we get back on our e-bikes and return to our starting point.
